Wellbeing :: Generation X

The Curran Foundation’s Wellbeing :: Generation X event series is for our younger supporters, namely those aged 30 - 40.

These events provide unique insights and information on popular wellness and health issues and raise funds for priority projects at St Vincent's Hospital..

The Curran Foundation hosted its first event of 2010 at Coco Republic on March 11. The New Year Preventative Health Check included guest speakers Professor Ron Penny, Melissa Armstrong and Matt Burke.

Hosted at the stunning Coco Republic showrooms, our guests enoyed an informative discussion from the expert panel – a doctor, a nutritionist and a sportsman - on what to do and not to do to ensure future good health: Professor Penny sharing some rather sobering facts on the risk factors associated with chronic disease counterbalanced by practical suggestions from Melissa and Matt on how to make simple, healthy lifestyle choices.

The evening raised $10,000 for the St Vincent’s Diabetes Centre to fund a health support programme for young adults with newly diagnosed diabetes. Special thanks go to our major prize sponsors Tower Estate Wines, Jonahs Whale Beach and Sydney Seaplanes.
