The St Vincent’s Intensive Care Research Unit was established with the generosity and commitment of John Parthenis, a long-time supporter of the Curran Foundation and a past patient in the St Vincent’s Intensive Care Unit.
With support from John and his network of friends and colleagues, the Curran Foundation provides grants to employ a Research Co-ordinator in the ICU who works with the Intensive Care Specialists in collecting and analysing data on treatment protocols and drug trials.
The information is shared with other Intensive Care Units across
Australasia to assess and ultimately improve clinical outcomes for
critically ill people everywhere. Below: John Parthenis with Research Co-ordinator, Claire Reynolds and Dr Bob Wright, Director of Intensive Care at St Vincent's.
